Caledonia’s Canoe/Kayak Video Contest
We were privileged to play a benefit show for the Friends of the Kipawa River on saturday night in Toronto. It was a fun night of music and white-water kayak videos, where we announced the start of Caledonia’s paddling video contest.
The contest runs until August 30th, 2007. Basically, we’re trying to mix our love of canoeing and kayaking with music. Also, we need kick-ass videos for our songs
So here’s how it works:
We’ll be accepting submissions until the end of August. If we come across a really good video before then, we’ll post it on our website for all to enjoy. There will be prizes for the best videos. AND, the best videos will be part of our National Tour in Spetember ‘07, when we will showcase your creations across the country.
The videos can be white-water, kayak surfing, canoeing, sea-kayaking; whatever you desire. Be creative! They can be arty and weird, humourous, or everyone’s favorite: kayak porn.
We’ll post more details about prizes etc in the coming weeks.
Ian’s Plan for World Domination
Caledonia’s keyboard player is starting a side-project: Piano Lessons Your Way.
Have you ever wanted to learn to play piano, but not wanted to commit to a tonne of lessons? Or, you don’t want to learn classical music, just a cool song you heard on the radio?
Well fret no longer, because Ian Bent will make all you piano related dreams come true (well, mostly he’s only interested in making you PG type dreams come true, especially if those dreams involve you paying him for piano lessons).
So contact Ian Bent for Piano Lessons Your Way. Don’t live in Halifax? No problem! Ian will come to you (especially if you live in a major Canadian city that Caledonia is playing in).

April 13th - Halifax, Seahorse Tavern
Get ready for a killer show in Halifax! Tell all your friends! Tell you mom! (I told my mom - she says she’ll be there).
Caledonia is playing at the Seahorse Tavern on Friday April 13th with the Blown Gasket Orchestra.
We’ve had a few requests for some more live material, so hopefully there will be a new bootleg disc available that night. But no promises
FaceBook Creeps me out.
Word on the street is, there’s a new Caledonia group on FaceBook.
If you haven’t heard of this yet, don’t worry - you will. It’ll start with emails from people you rarely contact inviting you to ‘join’. To be honest, i find the whole thing a little overwhelming, but that’s just me. (Why do we need another myspace?)
So, if you’re into FaceBook (which is cool, I’m not judging), and you like Caledonia, then there are friends out there for you.
